If you see or can feel the trout is interested but for some reason hesitating to strike, you can change the direction of the spinner, which usually helps. When you do this, what happens is that trout becomes more excited and relates to the direction change to that of a natural occurrence of food.
To accomplish this, keep the action smooth and consistent but gently move the rod from one side of your body to the other. Many times, this simple change will cause the trout to strike immediately.
