Chapter 28 Hello, Warden
Effective management of freshwater and saltwater fisheries would be impossible without a system of rules and regulations governing when people may fish, how many fish of each species they may catch, and how big the fish must be in order to keep them. States must sell fishing licenses to derive the funds necessary for such management and law enforcement.
Each state has necessarily different fishing regulations, and it is the angler's responsibility to know about them, as well as to abide by them. This chapter will explore some of those regulations, the reasons behind them, and some tips on how to stay within the law.
